A short, but oh so sweet, flight to the top of Crown Peak will see you taking in the expansive 360-degree views of Queenstown, Wanaka and beyond.
A great ride for a mix of intermediate and advanced riders

From the summit you will descend down the scenic 4x4 track through multiple switchbacks & some rustic sections to keep the excitement levels high, before heading onto the historic Brackens gully miners trail single track.

 

Finishing the ride by descending off the Crown Terrace and down to the gold mining village of Arrowtown – with a choice at the end of Tobin’s 4WD track or Murphy’s Run single track.

Two peaks, maximum vertical!
Begin with a vehicle shuttle from central Queenstown up to Coronet Peak, then jump on the *chairlift to the summit.

Ride the iconic Coronet Peak trails including Rude Rock & ride deep down into Skippers Canyon


From here you will be picked up by helicopter & flown to the summit of Bowen Peak for another epic descent. With options to head through native beach forest & a short additional pedal (climb) to visit the Kelly Mcgarry memorial table & ride Fernhill Loop, or just blast down through the flowy trails of the Queenstown Bike Park,

 

Finishing up in central Queenstown where you started

Not your average shuttle day, this ride includes two helicopter fights and two massive free ride descents.

Our first flight of the day lands at over 1800m – New Zealand’s highest Helibiking! From here it's an epic, rocky freeride where you can choose whatever line you wish to show off your skills before joining the fun, fast farm tracks further down.

 

Flight number two takes us up to Crown Peak

From just below the summit of Ben Cruchan we'll follow the rocky alpine ridgeline via a 4wd farm track down towards Coal Pit Saddle.

If track and weather conditions permit, we can divert from the ridge about halfway along to include Glenroy Water Race, with both options offering epic views and fun riding down to Coal Pit saddle.

With one last look at the Remarkables range its a rough & ready off road 4wd track down to the Gibbston Valley Tavern for a cold refreshing beverage to finish!

Bowen Peak – Queenstown’s Backyard
One for the advanced riders who love single track.
Fly from Queenstown Airport over the town centre to Bowen Peak, 1631 metres above Lake Whakatipu.

Take in the amazing views from the summit, then start your descent through natural tussock and sub-alpine scrub before hitting the Missing Link trail from the Ben Lomond saddle & down into native beach forest. From here we have multiple descent options, continuing down into the Queenstown Bike Park trails or a short pedal uphill over to the Fernhill loop trails.

We finish in downtown Queenstown with well-earned refreshment at one of many bike-friendly bars & cafes.

HeliBikeNZ’s original trip, the Old Woman Range, is a favourite with trail riders.  Enjoy the views as we heli out over the Remarkables and remote Nevis Valley before landing at 1700m on the rocky moonscape of the Old Woman Range.  Then it’s down – with a bit of up – via a mix of undulating slopes, fast flowy 4x4 trials and single track. If there’s time we’ll finish at a café in the heart of Central Otago’s Pinot Noir country, Bannockburn

Explore the Doolans and Horn ranges by bike with a half-day trip that includes two spectacular helicopter flights and 2100 vertical metres of stunning downhill.

 

Fly from Gibbston Valley and land atop Doolans Spur to begin the first down of the day. If we’re lucky, there’ll be patches of snow to really test our skills, before a mix of rocky trails and alpine snowgrass down to Doolan's creek. Here we’ll meet the heli for our second flight of the day, up to the Horn Range above the Nevis Valley. Check out a historic musterer’s hut and epic views then, hang on for the rocky undulating descent down to the valley floor. 

 

At the bottom, the HeliBikeNZ 4wd Truck will shuttle us up to the iconic AJ Hackett Bungy Nevis site where, if you choose, you can Bungy, Swing or Catapult or do all three!

 

Enroute home you have the option to drop into one of Gibbston’s eateries for well-earned refreshments.

Ride the best of the backcountry and the best of the bike park flow trails with this epic combo trip. Start with a stunning landing near the summit of Ben Cruchan and enjoy the alpine ridgeline riding overlooking the unique NZ backcountry, follow the rough rocky trails down into Gibbston Valley before heading up for another heli lift to the top of Coronet Peak.

Choose between the Coronet Downhill or Enduro tracks that then link on to the iconic Rude Rock trail. Then continue the adventure by heading down either Hot Rod or Bush Creek  back to the valley floor.

One for the fit intermediate and advanced riders, the Dunstan Mountain trails offer the perfect mix of super-fast, narrow farm and sheep track and 150 year old gold miners trails.

 

Our longest heli flight at 20 minutes, will deliver us into the heart of big backcountry for some huge descents and stunning views. Bring your camera!

 

We’ll head down through an area rich with history to Devil’s Creek via sheep tracks, off-piste open scree slopes and old water races.  A few short (but sweet) climbs will get your heart racing – if the downhill hasn’t already.  The shuttle will meet us on the banks of Lake Dunstan – where we can swim, rock jump and / or enjoy something cold before a scenic drive back to Queenstown.

From Queenstown we will take you on a scenic drive to the head of the lake - Glenorchy - to meet our helicopter and the start of our adrenaline adventure. Flying high up to the old mining cottage of Heather Jock the view towards lake Wakatipu and Mt Earnslaw is breathtaking. Then the downhill descent will take your breath away as it flows down old scheelite mining routes and farm tracks back to the lake shore.
